ที่ผ่านมา เป็นผลงานกำกับของ David Bruckner ผู้กำกับที่เคยโชว์ฝีไม้ลายมือไว้ในภาพยนตร์สยองขวัญหลายเรื่อง (The Night House, The Ritual, V/H/S) สำหรับ Hellraiser ฉบับรีบูทนี้ ก็ถือว่าเป็นภาพยนตร์ลำดับที่ 11 ของแฟรนไชส์ และก็ได้ Jamie Clayton (Sense8, The L Word: Generation Q) มาสวมบทบาท Pinhead คนใหม่ หรือที่คนไทยเรียกกันว่าปีศาจหัวตะปู ในฉบับรีบูทในครั้งนี้

เรื่องย่อ Hellraiser

เป็นเรื่องราวของ Riley (Odessa A’zion) ที่กำลังอยู่ในช่วงเลิกยา เธออาศัยอยู่กับ Matt (Brandon Flynn) พี่ชายของเธอในอพาร์ทเมนต์ Matt บอกกับน้องสาวของเขาอย่างชัดเจนว่าไม่ยอมรับ Trevor (Drew Starkey) แฟนใหม่ของน้องสาว เพราะเขากลัวว่าผู้ชายคนนี้จะพา Riley ไปในทางที่ไม่ถูกไม่ควร และก็ดูเหมือนจะเป็นอย่างที่ Matt คาดไว้ไม่มีผิด เมื่อ Trevor ชักชวนให้ Riley ร่วมมือกับเขาเพื่อไปขโมยของมีค่าในโกดังเก็บของที่ถูกทิ้งไว้ แต่แทนที่จะได้เจอกับทรัพย์สินมีค่าเพื่อนำไปขายได้ราคา Riley กลับเจอกับกล่องปริศนา และนำติดตัวกลับมาโดยที่ไม่คาดคิดเลยว่าของที่อยู่ในนั้นจะนำพาหายนะมาสู่ตัวเธอเองและคนรอบข้างได้อย่างขนพองสยองเกล้าได้มากเพียงใด

เปิดเรื่องมาไม่นานก็ถึงฉากชวนผวาเลยตามสไตล์ Hellraiser กับฉากโซ่ตรึงขึงตามร่างกายของผู้โชคร้ายที่เปิดกล่องปริศนาได้สำเร็จด้วยความไม่รู้ถึงภัยอันตรายที่รออยู่ โดยเหล่าปีศาจจากมิติขุมนรกอย่าง Cenobite ที่มีบทบาทโดดเด่นในภาคนี้ก็ได้แก่ The Priest หรือที่รู้จักกันในชื่อ Pinhead, The Gasp (Selina Lo), The Chatterer (Jason Liles) และ The Weeper (Yinka Olorunnife)

สำหรับการดำเนินเรื่อง ก็ดำเนินตามลำดับไทม์ไลน์ตลอดทั้งเรื่อง ไม่มีการตัดฉากสลับอดีตกับปัจจุบัน จึงเป็นหนังที่ดูได้ง่ายมาก ไม่ซับซ้อนเลยค่ะ แต่สิ่งที่ทำให้ Hellraiser น่าติดตามก็คือการปรากฏตัวของเหล่า Cenobite ในแต่ละครั้ง เพราะดีไซน์ปีศาจจากขุมนรกแต่ละตัวบอกเลยว่าน่ากลัวชวนแหวะไม่ใช่น้อยเลย ซึ่งก็ต้องยกความดีความชอบให้กับทีมงานเมคอัพและคอสตูมที่สามารถถ่ายทอดรูปลักษณ์ของเหล่าปีศาจออกมาได้อย่างน่าสะพรึงกลัวและไม่ทิ้งกลิ่นอายความเป็นต้นฉบับ สำหรับความโหดของการทรมานเหยื่อผู้อับโชคของเหล่า Cenobite ก็ทำออกมาเข้มข้น สมจริง และชวนเสียวไส้ได้หลายฉากเลยทีเดียว แฟน ๆ Hellraiser ต้องชอบใจกับฉากสยดสยองในเรื่องนี้อย่างแน่นอน

และอีกสิ่งที่ต้องชื่นชมก็คือการแสดงของ Jamie Clayton ในบท Pinhead ที่สมบทบาท น่าขนลุกและน่าเกรงขามได้ไม่น้อยไปกว่า Doug Bradley เจ้าของบทบาทปีศาจหัวตะปู ฉบับภาพยนต์ครั้งแรกในปี 1987 ไปจนถึงภาพยนต์ลำดับที่ 8 ของแฟรนไชส์ในปี 2005 ในชื่อว่า Hellraiser: Hellworld

Directed by David Bruckner, director of horror films (The Night House, The Ritual, V/H/S), this reboot of Hellraiser is the 11th film. of the franchise and get Jamie Clayton (Sense8, The L Word: Generation Q) to play the role of the new Pinhead, or what Thai people call the nail-headed devil. Synopsis Hellraiser

It tells the story of Riley (Odessa A’zion) who is on the brink of drug addiction. She lives with her brother Matt (Brandon Flynn) in the apartment. Matt has made it clear that his sister doesn’t accept her sister’s new boyfriend, Trevor (Drew Starkey). Because he was afraid that this man would lead Riley in the wrong way. And it appears to be exactly what Matt had hoped, when Trevor persuaded Riley to work with him to steal valuables in an abandoned warehouse. But instead of finding valuable assets to sell for a price, Riley encounters a mystery box. and bringing it back unexpectedly how much the things contained therein can bring terrifying destruction to yourself and those around you.

The story opens soon to a terrifying scene in Hellraiser style, with chains attached to the body of an unfortunate person who successfully opens the mystery box without knowing the dangers that await. Among the demons from the abyss dimension, Cenobite, who play a prominent role in this installment include The Priest, also known as Pinhead, The Gasp (Selina Lo), The Chatterer (Jason Liles), and The Weeper (Yinka Olorunnife).

for the proceedings It proceeds in a timeline sequence throughout the story. There are no cut scenes interspersing the past with the present. So it’s a very easy movie to watch. It’s not complicated at all. But what makes Hellraiser so compelling is the appearance of the Cenobites each time, because each hell’s demonic design is quite terrifying. Thanks to the make-up and costume team, they are able to portray the appearance of the demons in a terrifying way without leaving an original aura. The brutal torture of the Cenobites’ unfortunate victims is intense, realistic, and terrifying in a number of scenes. Hellraiser fans are sure to appreciate the terrifying scenes in this story.

And yet another thing to admire is Jamie Clayton’s portrayal of Pinhead, no less eerie and terrifying than Doug Bradley, the nail-headed devil. The first film edition from 1987 went on to the eighth film in the franchise in 2005 titled Hellraiser: Hellworld.
